From steadfast dedication to the way she inspires others in and out of competition, Kate Waugh represents the present and future of a new generation of triathletes.
In triathlon, similarly to life itself, every transition demands courage, discipline and vision. In this documentary we’re inviting you to get up close and personal to British triathlete Kate Waugh, who in recent years has gone from showing promise to becoming a living reality on an international level.
Kate shares the experiences that have shaped her career, the challenges she’s overcome and the lessons learned on the way, offering us a window into her intimate life; from her first steps in the sport, inspired by her surroundings and an early passion, to forming part of the elite after winning the U23 World Triathlon Championship in 2022. Her story is a testimony of constant effort, learning and growth, but this portrait takes us a step beyond her sporting success - we also discover the side of the triathlete that seeks a balance between the demands of high performance and the need to take care of her mental well-being.

Kate reflects on the most challenging moments of her career, the routines that keep her focused and the importance of motivation, even on difficult days. On top of this, she shares her vision of the future of triathlon and the mark she’d like to leave on the sport. With honesty, modesty and clarity, she reminds us that behind every medal, there’s a story of perseverance and purpose.

For best results, take your measurements with no clothing on
Place the measuring tape over the widest part of your chest.
Hold one end of the measuring tape in place and circle your chest, keeping the tape straight, until the tape reaches your starting point.
Get a book, a hand mirror and a pencil.
Take off your shoes and anything you wear on your head.
Look for a level surface to stand on with a smooth wall behind you.
Stand in front of the wall with your feet together.
Balance the book on your head and press it against the wall. Use the mirror to check that it is in a horizontal position and well centered. Mark the position of the top of your head on the wall with pencil.
Once the mark is made, step away and use a measuring tape to measure the distance from the ground to the mark you just made with pencil.
Step on the scale, without clothes or accessories, and write down your weight.
