Orca Tango, On and Off

Here are the care guides for your new surf wetsuit, the Orca Tango

The Orca Tango is our new top of the range technical wetsuit. For this reason, it’s very important to learn how to put it on and take it off correctly in order for you to make the most of the suit and its properties.

Below, we share a video with some key tips for the process:

How to put it on:

  • Handle with care: With the hooded version, avoid pulling on the smoothskin areas and instead, pull the suit up using the fabric areas at all times, using your fingertips where necessary.

  • Preparation:

    • Turn the suit inside out so that the inner lining faces outwards. This makes it easier to slip the suit on.
    • Insert one leg and gently pull the wetsuit over your ankle before moving on to the other leg.
  • Gradually pull the wetsuit up:

    • Gradually pull the suit up from the inside in short movements.
    • Ensure the knee pads align with your kneecaps.
  • Fit in the hips:

    • Pull the suit up to your hips, making sure there are no air pockets in the crotch area.
  • Fitting the upper part of the suit:

    • Remove any watches or bracelets before continuing.
    • Insert your arms one by one, using your fingertips to help you in order to avoid causing damage to the smoothskin on the cuffs.
  • Final fastening:

    • Pull the flap over your head and zip the suit up.

To take it off:

  • Unzip the suit:

    • Undo the snap and unzip the suit all the way down. Then pull the flap off back over your head.
  • Free your shoulders and arms:

    • Take your left shoulder out first, then your right. There are two layers in the right shoulder - we recommend you remove the upper layer, pulling it down past the outside of your shoulder. Then do the same with the second layer.
    • Don’t hold onto or pull on the smoothskin areas.
    • Gently remove one arm and then the other.
  • Pull the suit down from the hips:

    • Slide the suit down in short movements until your hips and thighs are free. Pull the suit down to your knees and then down to your ankles.
  • Carefully remove your feet:

    • Don’t step on the wetsuit. Use your thumbs to widen the ends of the suit in order to remove feet more easily.

How to measure yourself

For best results, take your measurements with no clothing on

Place the measuring tape over the widest part of your chest.

Hold one end of the measuring tape in place and circle your chest, keeping the tape straight, until the tape reaches your starting point.

Get a book, a hand mirror and a pencil.

Take off your shoes and anything you wear on your head.

Look for a level surface to stand on with a smooth wall behind you.

Stand in front of the wall with your feet together.

Balance the book on your head and press it against the wall. Use the mirror to check that it is in a horizontal position and well centered. Mark the position of the top of your head on the wall with pencil.

Once the mark is made, step away and use a measuring tape to measure the distance from the ground to the mark you just made with pencil.

Step on the scale, without clothes or accessories, and write down your weight.
