At Orca, our connection to the ocean goes beyond our passion for water sports; it’s a deep commitment to environmental protection.
At Orca, our connection to the ocean goes beyond our passion for water sports; it’s a deep commitment to environmental protection.
For years we’ve strived to minimise our impact on the environment by employing sustainable practices that reflect our respect for nature. Our mission is clear: eliminate plastic from the oceans and promote a future in which marine life can prosper. Through innovation in materials and processes, recycled and renewable resources and emphasis on the durability of our products, at Orca we are dedicated leaders of the journey towards a cleaner and greener world.
Just like our customers and athletes, we spend a lot of time in the ocean. We have a deep respect for the natural world and all its beauty. We have the responsibility to protect it, for the sake of future generations and prosperity of all life on Earth.
Our commitment extends through the life of our products, ensuring our impact on the environment is minimal. We are aware that there are countless battles to be won when it comes to sustainability, but, as ocean advocates, we channel all our energy into one aspect: eliminating plastic from the oceans. Because you can’t have green without blue.
As a brand, we stopped using all single-use plastics four years ago and since then we’ve been working with plastic-free packaging, opting for these more sustainable options instead.
1. We’re on the constant lookout for new materials: At Orca we are constantly searching for materials that are even more sustainable that reduce the environmental impact of our products.
2. We use recycled materials: The use of recycled polyester in our Core swimsuits (made with 78% recycled polyester) and in our Athlex trisuits (with 65%), as well as the use of polyamide from renewable resources in some of our products, highlights our brand’s commitment to sustainability and reducing its carbon footprint.
3. We’re reducing our carbon footprint: Sourcing suppliers that are closer to the company and making the production of our Core swimsuits local are strategies that demonstrate our commitment to reducing our carbon footprint.
4. We emphasise the durability of our products: Our use of top quality materials including Yamamoto neoprene means Orca’s wetsuits last longer and we receive very few complaints. In addition, with the aim of extending the durability of our products, Orca places special emphasis on the care needed in order for you to make the most out of each suit.
