No blue, no green

As outdoor sports lovers, we understand that we must preserve the environment that we all enjoy so much.

As outdoor sports lovers, we understand that we must preserve the environment that we all enjoy so much. As a brand, we have a direct responsibility to nature, and we must minimize our impact on the planet and strive to become as eco-friendly as possible.

For that reason, we decided to eliminate the use of plastics in the packaging of our entire wetsuit line. In addition, we are in the process of eliminating plastics from our entire range of products for 2021.

10% of all the plastic we use ends up in the ocean.

No matter where in the world we are located, the ocean is riddled with plastic waste, and that plastic can be found on almost every beach.

According to the study published in 2017 by Nature Communications, between 1.15 and 2.41 million tons of plastic are introduced into the oceans through rivers every year, with the months between May and October being the period of highest pollution in the water.

During the last 70 years, the demand for plastic has increased at a very high rate. In fact, according to Plastic Ocean, about 300 million tons of plastic are produced worldwide each year, and half of that plastic includes one-time use disposable items.

One of the main characteristics that make plastic so popular is its great durability, but this durability also allows it to persist in the environment for a long time.

Why is single-use plastic harmful to the environment?

Single-use plastics are the most obvious example of the consumption culture. Instead of focusing on quality goods that are reusable, we often prioritize convenience over sustainability without considering the long-term impact.

Therefore, minimizing the use of plastic is the most effective way to avoid this waste and pollution. And that is why, Orca is committed to remove all plastics from our packaging, including eliminating all plastics from the production of our wetsuit range.

How to measure yourself

For best results, take your measurements with no clothing on

Place the measuring tape over the widest part of your chest.

Hold one end of the measuring tape in place and circle your chest, keeping the tape straight, until the tape reaches your starting point.

Get a book, a hand mirror and a pencil.

Take off your shoes and anything you wear on your head.

Look for a level surface to stand on with a smooth wall behind you.

Stand in front of the wall with your feet together.

Balance the book on your head and press it against the wall. Use the mirror to check that it is in a horizontal position and well centered. Mark the position of the top of your head on the wall with pencil.

Once the mark is made, step away and use a measuring tape to measure the distance from the ground to the mark you just made with pencil.

Step on the scale, without clothes or accessories, and write down your weight.
