Orca Free Male
Working with free dive world record holder William Trubridge, Orca has developed the Orca Free – the most technologically advanced free dive-specific wetsuit ever made.
Having used a number of Orca’s triathlon wetsuits in free dive training and competition, William had several key criteria for the Orca Free: high performance hydrodynamic qualities; extremely high levels of flexibility; minimal water entry into the wetsuit; thermal protection; minimal buoyancy; and of course, great looks.
The Orca Free is constructed from 2mm 39 cell Yamamoto neoprene, providing the perfect balance of thermal protection and buoyancy for free diving. The neoprene has been shaped into panels designed to maximise flexibility. The Free Wing Panel stretches in one seamless piece of neoprene from the underarm areas, across the chest, maximising range of motion for the shoulders and arms. Complementing this are the Free Fly arm panel, Free Flex back panel, and the high stretch lining.
For enhanced hydrodynamics the Orca Free has a Nano SCS coating and glued and stitched panel joins. Testing shows the Orca Free provides incredible performance, reducing stroke rate and increasing speed across a variety of free dive disciplines.
There are several new free dive-specific innovations for the Orca Free. The Italian-sourced Free Zip is constructed with a water repellent tape, stopping water entering the wetsuit, and reducing drag. The unique Free Seal uses a collar of neoprene, which you put your head through when putting the wetsuit on. The seal helps to prevent any water entering the wetsuit through the neck area, and any water that does enter is quickly channelled out through the Free Flow system below the zip.
The Orca Free is the wetsuit of choice for a number of the world’s best free divers, and sets a new benchmark for performance in one of the world’s most demanding sports.
