Orca’s most technically advanced non-wetsuit swim legal material, this USAT-approved 0.3mm Modetec SCS material has an elongation ratio of 210-225% to provide superior stretch, whilst it has neutral buoyancy and a gravity measurement of 1.19-1.20. The Biolite has been scientifically treated with Orca’s exclusive anti-friction coating to provide a drag coefficient of just 0.032 when wet, providing the ultimate in speed through the water performance.

Thermo-plastic tape is applied to finished fabric edges to effectively seal the fabric join, preventing water entry, and also avoiding piercing the waterproof fabric with standard stitching methods. Orca Dri-Lite™ is constructed of micro-fibre polyester, making this one of the most technically advanced garment fabrics on the market. Dri-Lite™ uses two different deniers of fibre in its construction, which enhances directional wicking whereby finer fibres on the outer surface effectively pull moisture away from the inner surface of slightly denser fibres. Resulting in excellent moisture management and additional benefits of lightness and next-to-skin comfort. Breathable and fast drying, Dri-Lite™ is now a durable anti-static fabric, perfect for training and competition.

Orca Form is designed to act as a close-wearing, next-to-skin fabric which stretches and contracts with the wearer’s movements. The fabric weave is tight yet breathable, providing a balance of stretch and compression to hold muscles firmly in place. This reduces muscle vibration, a major cause of muscle fatigue –resulting in less exertion with more energy to invest into overall output. Orca Form stretches and recovers with every motion providing superior comfort and fit for both training and racing.

This is the result of a process which makes fabric waterproof by applying a liquid compound directly onto the fabric surface, then applying heat pressure to infuse the coating into the fabric. This process is carried out in a series of very thin layers, which then dry to form an infused waterproof, yet flexible, lightweight and breathable barrier against water entry.

A five-step manufacturing process, involving two layers of water resistant silicone coating, and fused elastane and polyester yarn to create TriSkin – one of the most water-resistant performance fabrics in the world. Fabric construction allows sweat particles to be transported away from the body, providing the wearer with excellent moisture management. In TriSkin athletes swim faster with less drag in the water, while remaining dry and cool on the bike and run.

A materials breakthrough in moisture management, the new Orca Vapour is a light, breathable fabric used in key Moisture Transfer panels of garment construction. With a high Moisture Vapour Transmission Rate (MVTR) – the rate at which moisture passes through the fabric and away from the skin – Vapour represents a new addition to signature Orca performance materials designed to maximise output with comfort.

A chemical finish applied to fabric with the purpose of creating a resistance to water absorption or entry. This results in drops of water ‘beading up’ and effectively rolling off the fabric, rather than soaking in.
